| Situated on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean,you can sit in solitude as you watch ships and ferries on their way to Labrador; watch icebergs as they make their seasonal journey from Greenland and the Arctic waters; see whales and dolphins frolicking; lighthouses signaling and fisherman fishing. Awake to the sun rising over the horizon. Our guest rooms are comfortably decorated in Pine Scandinavian furniture with locally made cozy quilts on our beds and hardwood on the floors. All rooms have private baths and feather beds. One room has a private Jacuzzi bath. Sleep with only the sounds of nature around you. Hiking trails are located at our doorstep. All guests have full use of the Sauna facilities.
Valhalla has a wonderful library with many books and videos on Newfoundland and the Vikings. One of the video's that is in the library is the Arts and Entertainment "The Vikings in North America" which was actually filmed from the Lodge. Enjoy a fabulous dinner at our restaurant "The Norseman" in L'Anse aux Meadows. where you can pick your own lobster from a crate at the wharf! Dinner Theatre "Tales of L'Anse aux Meadows" every Tuesay and Friday at 7:30p.m. The owner is Bella Hodge who grew up in Raleigh and L'Anse aux Meadows, Newfoundland. As a child in L'Anse aux Meadows she played on the Viking mound that were said to be Indian Ruins by the local people. She has an outgoing personality and is very knowledgeable about the area.
